Monday Morning Melancholy by ~Chrylibis:iconChrylibis:

How I’d love to smash that loathsome alarm
Hurl it across the room and watch it break
The delicate springs within snapped and twisted
The hateful clockwork forever destroyed
And maybe get a little sleep

The once-pleasant whistle of the kettle
Is now a shriek of anguish and solitude
The coffee mugs are cracked and stained
With pathetic, uninspiring slogans
“Have a productive day.”

I dread the stacks of paperwork
They may as well be towering mountains
Insurmountable castles and stone walls
Showering me with boiling pitch and deadlines
Perhaps the work will do itself…

And now I’ve slid right back to square one
Yesterday’s ladder was a snake in disguise
But I think I fell off the board into another headache
Sinking deeper and deeper into Monday oblivion
A pitiful mockery of who I used to be.

This one's for another Featurez contest, the word was 'Stagnation'. I don't reckon this is my best at all, but hey. Maybe when you read it, you'll feel kinda bored and stagnant yourself. Which is hopefully the point.

Yeah, there we go, something positive! When I started this off, I just thought 'ugh, well it's better than nothing', but I'm glad it kinda worked

you're one in a crowd and you're paranoid of every sound.

Mmmm brilliant stuff! Yeah I hate the school certificate too, but I'd never go breaking things because of it ;) =P lol And I'm suuuper glad to see you've broken free of using rhymes! Whoo hoo! :D There are so many more possibilities now, aren't there? This rocks,

“Have a productive day.”
I think i know where that was inspired. Christ, can't the lady just tell us to have an enjoyable day? It's not like her words are going to affect the amount i do or don't do anyway.
Well written. Good view on the whole mess of Mondays.
